What Can a Podiatrist Do?
Podiatrists are trained to assess and manage the treatment of conditions related to lower limb, to keep you more comfortable on your feet. These conditions may include problems related to anything from difficulty getting to your feet, painful corns and callus, problems with walking in children, painful feet, Diabetes and Arthritis management to pain related to over use and sports injuries. Your podiatrist may use a wide range of therapies to improve your foot health.
• General Treatment
General treatment refers to the common practice of trimming and thinning toe nails and the debridement of corns and callus. It also encompasses the treatment of cracked heels, fungal nails, warts, ingrowing nails, various skin conditions including tinea, smelly feet and general foot care and foot wear advice.
• Kids Feet
Podiatrists are fully trained to assess and treat children’s foot conditions. Some common problems that may concern parents are toe walking, flat feet, tripping, leg pain, heel pain, skin conditions, in-toeing or unusual walking or running. It is important to have your child’s feet assessed thoroughly. If left untreated abnormal structure and function of the foot may result in postural problems, pain and/or injury.
• Injury Treatment & Prevention
Most sports and many occupations, place an increased physical demand on our body, in particular our feet. This increased demand in combination with other factors may lead to discomfort, pain or even serious injury. Biomechanical abnormalities, foot wear and other factors need to be assessed in order to select the right treatment program for each individual. In this way we will achieve the best possible treatment outcomes and prevent further foot injury.
• Diabetes
Diabetic foot care is an area of special interest at Foot’s Ease Podiatry. There are two main problems Diabetes causes within the foot and lower limb;

Peripheral Arterial Disease – narrowing or blockage of the arteries which supply blood carrying vital oxygen to the feet.
